The supplier will also provide Lotto Bayern, which operates the Bavarian state lottery in Munich, with its gaming systems solution, Symphony.

This new gaming system will be used to power the Bavarian state lottery’s 3,300 retail points-of-sale and all digital sales.

Symphony now supports two German state lotteries and will also allow Lotto Bayern to provide multi-channel sales.

Lotto Bayern products include the Eurojackpot, Lotto 6aus49, Spiel 77, Super 6, GlückSpirale, Die Sieger-Chance, Keno, Plus 5 and Toto, in addition to pull tab tickets and instant scratch games.

Lotto Bayern President Claus Niederalt said: “Scientific Games is a long-term reliable technology and service partner who not only meets our very demanding architectural targets with their new Symphony platform but also offers a transformation path facilitating our transition from monolithic to new modular architecture.”

The Munich lottery provider generates over €400m ($424.7m) in taxes for the Bavarian state budget. These funds enable additional support for areas such as sports, culture, monument preservation and other public areas that may otherwise be left underfunded.

Scientific Games VP of Strategic Sales & Marketing, Matthias Müller, said: “Lotto Bayern has taken a smart step toward the future with our new Symphony gaming systems technology. This advanced, modular system from Scientific Games offers Lotto Bayern the agility to adapt quickly to ever-changing consumer behaviors and rapidly evolving retail and digital sales environments.”

Scientific Games has served Lotto Bayern since the mid-1990s.
